Have you ever wondered, while eating chips or something packaged, it is mostly filled of air and this air is nothing but the nitrogen, but why this is packs are filled with nitrogen? How the chips are so crispy and fresh in that pack?

Let's know,

This packets of chips are not fully filled with air, but of nitrogen. This is done to prevent the chips from oxidising, which make them go stale.

Oxygen is very reactive, and likes to combine with many other molecules, whenever it can, because of which chemical changes takes place.

However, nitrogen is very stable and interactive. That's why a nitrogen atmosphere is good for storing foods like chips and other things.

Although, many people think that air is same thing as Oxygen, about 78% of the air we breathe is actually nitrogen gas. Nitrogen is all around us.
