Ever wondered why the windows of the airplanes are rounded? Keep reading further to know the answer.

While flying at such a great attitudes, airplanes have more air pressure than the air pressure outside. Due to which the cabin slightly expands creating stress which flows through the cabin's material.

If the windows were square or rectangular, the stress caused tension to build up at the corners of square windows. This tension produced cracks which leads the plane to crash.

Hence, the design flaw was corrected by making windows oval. This oval shaped windows provide a smoother path for stress to flow and thus, the tension is not produced and airplanes are safe.
