Why do people have flat feet?

Have you seen a person having flat feet, it is harmless but why do it occur? What causes the flat feet? Can flat feet be dangerous?

Here's why,

You have flat feet when the arches on the inside of your feet are flattened, allowing the entire soles of your feet to touch the floor when you stand up. It is usually painless condition. Flatfeet can occur when the arches don't develop during childhood.

Flat feet can sometimes contribute to problems in your ankles and knees because the condition can alter the alignment of your legs. If you are aren't having pain, then there is no need of treatment and its normal. Experts believe that about 20-30 percent of population has flat feet, that's anywhere from the 1 in 5 of it.

Most people have no symptoms  associated with flat feet. Some people may feel pain, particularly in the heel or arch area and if you do activities which causes pain to your feet, then it may worsen with activities. It can also swell the area near the arch.

A flat foot is normal in toddlers and infants as their foot's arch hasn't much developed. The foot arches of most of the people get develop throughout the childhood, but some people never develop arches. But this very common variation in foot types, people with flat arches may or may not have problems.

The flatfoot is flexible in some of the people, in which the arch is visible when sitting or standing on tiptops, but disappears while standing. Many people outgrow flexible flatfoots with problems.

This arches can also fall over time. Years of wear and tear can weaken the tendon that runs along the inside of your ankle and helps support your arch. The arches may also fall down due to obesity, Rheumatoid arthritis, injury to ankle or feet, diabetes and aging.

This is the reason behind the Flatfeet of the people.
