Why the grass is green in colour?

The reason why the other plants are green is the same reason because of which the grass is green in colour,

Let's know,

Like other plants, most species of grass produce a bright pigment called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll absorbs blue light which have short wavelength and red light which have longer wavelength. Well, the grass reflects mostly the green colour.

The chlorophyll isn't just for giving green colour. It also plays an important role in the process of photosynthesis by which the plants convert the light (inorganic) into useable sugar (organic).

Chlorophyll molecules absorb quanta of light and transfer the energy into special molecules, which when simulated, fire off an electron that causes chemical changes in the plant. Further processes turn the chemical energy into sugar.

However, grass can just sit on one place and grow, while we poor animals have to hunt down our food, which may seem a trifle unfair by comparison.

By the way, it's too long reason for the green colour of the grass. So, it much for you to understand why the grass is green.
