Everyone assumes that camel stores water in their humps, but you are wrong then what do the camels carry in their humps? Where do they carry water?

Here's why,

Camels have long been known for their ability to go weeks at a time without water to drink and also they are famous as the ship of desert.

Camels are known for their prominent humps, which leads many people to believe that these are used to store water for access at a later time. However, this humps actually stores fatty tissue instead of water, which is used as a source of  nourishment when food is scarce.

Although the humps do not store water, still camels can go without water many days. Thai is partly due the unique shape of their blood cells, which are oval in shape. This oval shaped blood cells allow camels to consume large amount of water. Camels can drink near about 110 litres at one time.

This is because the cells are more elastic and can change shape more easily. This shape of the blood cells allow their blood to flow more easily, when the water is scarce.

So, the humps of the camels carry fats, not water. Their blood cells are responsible for their ability of staying without water for a long time.
