Why Does Cold Water Taste Better Than Warm Water?

In this pandemic situation, drinking warm water is essential but it does not taste as good as cold water, it happens with all of us. But have you ever wondered why does cold water taste better than warm water? Does change in temperature affects the taste of water?

Let's know,

As you know, water is supposed to be tasteless but certain amount of carbon dioxide, oxygen, impurities in our glasses and food particles get mixed with water which gives a taste to water.

Actually, the coldness of water suppresses some of these bad factors that make a change in taste of pure water. Any impurities that make the water taste slightly different get removed when the water is warm.

However, some people love to drink cold water whereas some love to drink warm water because the fact that water is an acquired taste - a preference that a person develops over many years i.e. a person living in the poles will not like the water to be cold as someone living in desert may love it.
