How do vaccines work?

Ever wondered how the vaccines work on our body? How they kill the pathogens? What do they have in them?

Let's know,

Vaccines train our body to fight against dangerous disease causing pathogens.

Vaccines often contain weakened or dead pathogens. When they are injected into our body, they just trigger the immune response but do not cause fully fledged diseases.

Our immune cells recognize these pathogens as foreign invaders and produces antibodies. As a result, these antibodies kill the pathogens. The immune cells also record the information about the pathogens and the way they were killed.

In case, if a similar strong pathogen enters our body again, our immune cells remember and easily identify that pathogen. Thus, they produce required antibodies to fight it back and we remain fit and healthy.
