It is the thing that travellers and even frequent travellers who travel from planes, have the question that why the colour of the planes is white,

Let's know why,

Although, the most of the airlines have their own branding, graphic and it's own identifiers. But underneath it all nearly all passenger planes have white paint.

The main reason is that the white colour reflects the light and other absorbs most of it. The white colour protects and minimises the damage from solar radiation to planes.

Flying at such great altitudes, the planes undergoes from many atmospheric conditions. Coloured planes tend to fade over time and requires repainting many times. While the colour of the planes painted in white do not fade even after spending significant amount of time in the air.

The other reason is the dents, oil spills and other faults are more darker than the white. Allowing them to be easily identified and repaired swiftly.

Collision of birds with planes or Bird strikes are common and can be significant threat to planes. White exteriors can enhance planes visibility and potentially increase it's detection and avoidence from birds.

Due to all of this the most of the planes are painted in the white colour.
