Why the oceans near Gulf of Alaska meet but do not mix with each other ?

You all are friendly with this photo because it has  been gone viral on internet, but do you know how is it possible and why it happens,

Let's know how,

Gulf of Alaska is the place where two oceans meet, but interestingly, they never mix with each other.

They are not two oceans, one is glacial melting and other is offshore water of Gulf of Alaska. The melting water of glacier is rich in minerals and sediment laden, the other is saline water.

The glacier melting water is  lighter in density and has light blue colour. The other salt content water, makes the density of water heavier giving it a light blue shade.

This variation in the density of water brings the difference in colours. However, the temperature and salinity level also causes the difference in the two water bodies.

It's also a myth - ‘meet but do not mix.’

This concept is partially myth. If you ever get to notice these borders of their intersection, they vary at different times.

The fact is, those waters do not mix eventually, but their intersecting borders are not static.
