We are developing, launching many satellites in the orbit of earth but it also has many cons,
Let's know them,
Space junk also called as space debris means the artificial material that is orbiting earth, which is no longer functional. This includes old satellites, abandoned launch vehicle stages, paint flecks, rocket motors, etc.
As per US space surviellance network in October 2019, reported nearly 20,000 artificial objects orbiting the earth, including 2,218 operational satellites. And as of January 2019, 128 million pieces less than 1 CM, about 9,00,000 pieces of 1-10 CM and around 34,000 pieces larger than 10 CM of debris are estimated to be in the orbit of earth.

Now, we can launch safely in space but it is possible in future, because of the this junk it will be harder for is to get out the orbit of the earth.
Solution to clear up some of the debris is to de-orbit them means forced re-entry of space object into the earth's atmosphere, via the propulsion system.
Other is to burn them up with the spacecraft having plasma beams.
